- 4 inches ginger, peeled and sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
Margarita:
- 1 1/2 ounce golden simple syrup

Reduce heat to low and simmer until sugar has dissolved, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and let steep 10 minutes. Stir in turmeric until fully incorporated, then strain mixture through fine mesh strainer. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Combine all garnish ingredients except lemon slices on small plate. Wet rim of each glass with lemon slice, and dip rim into salt mix to coat. Fill glass with ice.
- To assemble margarita, combine golden syrup, lemon juice, orange juice and optional liquor in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain over ice in prepared glass. Serve with lemon slice.
